Dell currently employees around 1,000 staff in the UK, based in Bracknell, and the company recently announced the hiring of 420 new staff for its Ireland base in Cherrywood.

According to Paul Bell, Dell's president of EMEA, the expansion is necessary to support the company's future growth and customers in the PC maker's second biggest market outside the US.

Growth is certainly on Dell's agenda for the next year. Despite notching up its best ever quarter, the company has now set its sights on an $80bn target for the future, up on previous benchmark of $60bn.
