Help us to find out more about the state of tech skills in the UK by taking the silicon.com skills survey.

Now in its 10th year, the silicon.com skills survey investigates the big skills and career trends in the UK.

Highlights of last year's salary survey included the revelation that a lucky 36 per cent of CIOs earned more than £70,001 per year, although the majority - 48 per cent - had to scrape by on between £40,001 and £70,000.

Nearly half of the 2007 survey respondents agreed or strongly agreed there is a skills crisis - and 45 per cent said there are IT jobs in their business they are unable to fill, and project management rated as the non-IT skill in shortest supply in the workplace. Whether that will remain true now the credit crunch begins to squeeze remains to be seen.

The survey explores what skills are in short supply in your workplace, and the role of outsourcing and contractors. New for this year is a focus on the role of women in IT and the attitude of the industry towards older workers.

Have your say - and for a chance to win an iPod Nano - by taking the survey which can be found here.
