Having children cdertainly adversly affected my career. It effectively ended (back in ealry 1980's). I now have 'a job' but it was my choice and have never regretted it. NOT having kids cos of job will be a TERRIBLE regret for some women. As for my husband, having children ENHANCED his career. Getting married and having a family too, is a big plus where men are concerned. It means they have committments (financial) and are less likely to let their career slip. It is STILL a mans world!
