I have been working at home for the past 12 years or so. The technology has changed hugely in that time, from pay by the minute dial up internet to 10mbit cable with VPN to head office.
A bit of a mixed blessing in some ways as everything has become far more immediate and my working day tends to be more 8-6 than 9-5.
Some things don't change,I still have a cat to keep me companty. My original white cat passed away, one of his parting gestures being to demonstrate the incompability of computer keyboard with cat sick!. His replacement, a black and white model, is highly skilled at resting his head on my arm or keyboard as I work.
The cat is a vital part of the desktop of any full time home worker, they provide that contact with life that computers can't.
