Two tips:
1. I always make a todo list the day before, and modify it based on emails I check first thing when working from home. I deliberately make the list more than I could possibkly accomplish, and I add variety to it.
2. I always supply my boss with a completed accomplishments list from WFH the next day, or in my weekly status report. It helps him and it helps me.
3. So as not to be constantly checking email and voice mail, I let people know I will check it hourly. If there is an emergency, they can page me.
