There is no shortage of skills in the UK and that includes mixed business and IT skills.
What potential employers need to do is:
1. understand their requirements (i.e. many are too specific with regards to certain bits of software rather than looking for solid management or development skills)
2. not be afraid to hire people who may be more skilled and older than themselves.
