I believe there is a place for the knowledge and techniques gained from an MBA in helping to get to that CIO position. I took an Open University Technology Management MBA, which took an approach of technology for business objective delivery. This helped tremendously in making that leap from technology based on features to technology based on business objective delivery. It combines business and technology knowledge to better prepare proponants of technology for the boardroom. I would recommend it to any CIO or aspiring CIOs who would like to make it ot the boardroom
