Pretty atrocious situation to be in considering we have had more than 30 years since the introduction of the first Equal Pay Act in the seventies.

Worse still is the fact that this is not an 'IT specific' problem - whilst women in the sector continue to be discriminated against in this way things are just as bad, if not worse in virtually any other occupation/industry you look at.

The only way forward would seem to be litigation but clearly something is not working in this respect - fear of work place reprisals and re-employment problems following a tribunal case I would guess.

This said it would appear to be the only way forward - through the UK system and on to the EU corts if necessary.
