The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) has announced it's working on skills certification for RFID.
With a recent report from the Association finding skills in the tracking tag arena sorely wanting, CompTIA has teamed up with groups including AIM Global and hardware firms including Texas Instruments to create the specification.
David Somner VP of electronic commerce at CompTIA, said the certification would be designed to tackle the hardware, software and business services needs of would-be RFID experts.
According to the Association, a lack of experienced RFID integrators has been holding back many potential rollouts.
Analyst house Yankee Group predicts that the budget for rollouts will increase substantially over the next couple of years, from around $5.1m last year to $11m in 2007.
