Males in tech willing to show off their wad
But only to line women's pockets

Male techies are willing to reveal the size of their pay packets if it helps women get a fairer pay deal.

More than half (62 per cent) say they would come clean about what is in their wallets to help women get equal pay, according to recruitment company Hudson.

On average female IT professionals receive 17.2 per cent less than their male colleagues.

An even larger proportion of the 1,000 IT workers surveyed, 68 per cent, say senior managers should be forced to tell the workforce their salaries.

Women in IT are far less keen on salary show-and-tell, with only 49 per cent being happy to disclose their pay.

Luke Archer, London director for Hudson, said in a statement: "IT professionals are ready to break one of the biggest taboos in the workplace - revealing salaries - in order to ensure true equality of pay.

"The gender pay gap persists, and businesses that neglect to address it are risking alienating half their workforce."

He said staff retention levels would be boosted by a culture of openness and equality over pay.
