The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has set up a special taskforce to combat Internet fraud.

The SEC receives approximately 120 complaints each day referring to deceptions on the Web. Thirty cases of Internet fraud are already being taken to court.

The commission hopes setting up a specific taskforce to tackle the issue will serve as a warning to would-be fraudsters.
