Knowledge management company, Edo, is targeting healthcare organisations with services it claims can make the transition from paper to electronic systems cheaper and more efficient.
Edo believes the main problem is that public health organisations do not have the resources to support the massive push that is required to take this step - namely the amount of manual input required.
The company claims its Teleform products and consultants can hasten the changeover process by using recognition and data collection technology that transfers data into electronic form via faxes and scanners.
The company claims most GPs, hospitals and trusts still operate with paper but are under increasing pressure to transfer records and all other clinical information into automated systems.
