Sun and HNV launch healthcare intranet project

By Polly Raymond

Published: 26 August 1999 16:37 BST

Sun Microsystems has partnered with intranet integrator, Health Network Ventures (HNV), to develop Internet and intranet software for healthcare providers.

The two companies will also work together to develop specialist software to allow hospitals and doctors to network their clinical and administration information.

HNV CEO, Christopher Assif, said the biggest challenge faced when implementing healthcare software systems is to help first-time users get accustomed to the intranet. He claimed Sun's systems had flexibility and reliability, making them well-suited to easing the phasing-in period.
