Data General has beaten HBOC, IBM and SMS to a £4.5 million contract to supply the Countess of Chester Hospital with an integrated patient care system.
The PFI (Private Finance Initiative) contract, which will last eight years, will replace the existing administration and patient systems, and add new clinical applications.
The hospital set up a procurement team of 30 people, which visited hospitals across the UK, before choosing Data General.
