Gateshead Council has decided to deploy ICL's Pericles business rate modules as part of its move away from the ICL VME operating system to Windows NT.
The local council has used VME for 15 years, but the Council has deployed ICL's Trimetra migration tools to speed the transition to Pericles on NT.
ICL's Pericles suite offers local governments specific applications including document management facilities, workflow, intranet and Internet design services as well as a Microsoft Exchange messaging backbone.
Julie Knox, IT manager at Gateshead Council said the system will be extended to include council tax and benefits modules next year.
