The Italian UMTS licence auction will start at the beginning of October, according to an unnamed Italian government source.
The auction is likely to take place in the Communications Ministry starting on 2 October with the results announced on 10 November.
Operators have until 24 August to enter the auction and all technical and business plans must be submitted by 11 September. Organisers of the auction are expected to allocate the licences on 6 December.
The administrator of the auction is expected to be communications minister Giorgio Guidarelli Mattioli.
