
Kent County Council is banning mobile phone masts from all council owned property because of fears over possible health risks.

It is calling on all mobile phone companies to apply for full planning permission for any mobile mast, currently only needed if the mast is higher than 15 metres.
The council is also recommending all school governors follow the same policy on their land. Schools are also being advised to get the Radio Communications Agency to check existing masts near schools for high emissions.
