London Boroughs bask in web praise

Best websites in the UK developed by councils...

London Boroughs have the best and most advanced websites in the land, according to the latest survey of local authority e-government from the Society of IT Managers (SOCITM).

The survey also found that just three out of 467 local authorities have failed to develop some kind of web presence.

London websites have shown the most improvement over the last year, with over half showing advanced and intelligent content, enabling the user to search out information intuitively.

However, still less than five per cent allowed any kind of transaction.
