Presidential elections in Mali have been stymied because of a lost computer password.

The results for the Malian election are being delayed indefinitely because the man who has the password for the country's central election computer has been involved in a traffic accident, the BBC reports.

The computer technician - who has sole access to the election tallies - is currently recovering in hospital.
