The UK police force's National Hi-Tech Crime Unit has spearheaded an international anti-paedophile campaign which led to the arrest of 50 people this morning.
The raids were synchronised across seven countries, with six individuals arrested in the UK. Thirty-one were arrested in Germany, having used the net to co-ordinate their activities and circulate pictures described as 'among the worst' the investigators have ever seen.
The investigation spread from the UK to the US, Canada, Belgium, Denmark, Italy, the Netherlands, Romania, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
'Operation Twins' was overseen by the UK's National Hi-Tech Crime Unit, which has worked for a year on the paedophile ring, known as the Shadowz Brotherhood.
We'll have more on this story later, including an interview with detective chief superintendent Len Hynds, head of the National Hi-Tech Crime Unit.
