I am insulted that a publication such as yours could ever encourage state control of peoples lives and be so cavalier with freedom and liberty. How can you even think of even attempting to encourage the ID card issue? It is an anathema to any free thinking democratic country such as ours. Don't trot out the old crap about "nothing to fear". Beware any government who wants a datbase on its citizenery. What's lawful today is outlawed tomorrow.

It is a pity it isn't painless then no-one would do it. When will it become compulsory instaed of voluntary? How often do yuo want to be stopped for no reason at all to have an ID check before people revolt against too much state control???
