Back to the Scandal of "Rotten Boroughs."

History, and the recent e-voting pilots have shown how easily some voters can be "persuaded," bribed or pressurized into voting for a particular candidate.

It would be a great mistake to abandon the privacy, security and "gravity" provided by polling booths.

TVs "Pop Idol" may attract more votes, but surely its outcome is less serious?
