We don't have to be rocket scientists to realise that personalised signature system will deter use of stolen, forged and hence fake documents and hence deter fraudsters and hackers. Following details justifies our claim.

Fraud will be a thing of past if financial institutions implemented personalised signature system.

Did you know that unless we implement personalised signature system we have no system to deter use of stolen, forged and fake documents and hence we will not deter fraudsters, hackers and forgers?

To personalise signature all we need to do is to apply ID sticker (small sticker with person’s photo and name printed on it) to the document and counter sign so that the signature is shared between the sticker and document. If photo can personalise our passports, there is no reason why photos can not personalise signatures.

Financial institutions will protect themselves, their customers and hence the entire business industry from fraudsters simply by implementing personalised signature system.

How does personalised signature system work?

Step 1. Financial institutions should supply pocket size books containing 64 ID stickers (small stickers with customer’s photo and name printed on them) to their customers.

Step 2. Customers would apply one of these ID stickers to any document in question (such as card slip or cheque or bankers’ draft or contract.) and countersign so that the signature is shared between the sticker and document. In reality ID sticker enables us to personalise signature the way photo personalise passports. This simple system will deter fraudsters because in the event of crime police will be able to expose their identity on “Wanted for questioning” page in national papers. Even if the name and signature is bogus, photo will enable police to prosecute abuser with minimal effort.

Obvious important advantages.

1. This system will deter anyone from getting tempted to use stolen, forged and fake documents and hence it would deter identity fraud, card (debit card, credit card and chip and PIN card) frauds etc. without the need to rely on any equipment or even ID documents. Any system, which relies on equipment at the point of transaction, will encourage identity fraud where reading equipment is not present. This is why even national ID cards will not deter identity and organised fraud, which this simple personalised signature system will.

2. Photo is the only biometric our eyes can read and hence it will eliminate the need to rely on reading equipment at every point of transaction.

3. ID stickers on delivery notes will deter mail order and online fraud. This in turn will make internet shopping safe and so boost use of cards and cheques.

4. If we wish, we can request use of thumb print on ID sticker, which will enable us to verify true identity of the person in question in the event of crime.

5. ID stickers will not get misused since photo on them would personalise them to individuals. Even a forged or fake ID sticker will expose abuser’s identity and hence this system is foolproof.

6. Since fraudsters can pick our PIN numbers via pinhole cameras or mobile phones with video clip recording facility the way they do at ATMs, Chip and PIN system will encourage pickpocket fraud. Personalised signature system will deter this type of fraud to make chip and pin system safe.

7.Since chip and pin system does not involve retailers to examine cards and signatures, fraudsters will be tempted to kidnap cardholders to make easy money even more safely. Personalised sticker system will be very effective in deterring this dangerous crime.

8.Since our images are picked by CCTVs, digital cameras and mobile phones, the public will not be shy to personalise their signatures on documents to deter crime.

9.Personalised signature system will drastically improve public safety because no one would be tempted to misuse their personal details or documents. There is no other system, which w
