It is so true that cybercrime is so prevalent. Personally, I have corresponded with quite a few trustworthy people who, in addition to myself, have been ripped off terribly online, including eBay, though not eBay's fault by any means. However, there are people who are claiming ownership rights (VERO, as it is called on eBay) but allowing scores of sellers to pass the items for bid for buyers (I speak from experience, as well) yet when those same buyers decide to trade (auction the same items with a disclaimer of rights) and enjoy the fun in trading, those not in the "circle" receive threatening e-mails. This is truly a shame. One person claiming rights to copyright ownership, but allowing their friends to sell and terrorizing others. For those who ever have the unfortunate experience of this happening (as I did, and a host of my other trading friends), BE SURE to keep ALL threatening emails and report it all to your isp, the sender's isp, eBay (if this same scenario happens and it is involving a sell or trade on ebay), and most of all, the police. There have been quite a few reports filed and documented concerning threats received from people selling 16mm films (for example, That Girl and Bewitched) ... people who decide to threaten you once you sell the products you purchased from THEM as well as a VERO owner playing favoritism over sellers...friends may sell ... others may not. In this world of technology, it is a shame that people resort to cyberthreats of violence, seizure, etc. Again, be careful and report EVERYTHING. You will be so glad that you did.
