How would the proposed ID card help me bank online?
"...Online verification of an ID card could be quicker and easier than keeping photocopies of documents such as passports, and the transaction could also be automatically recorded on the bank systems..."
These days, many people bank mostly "online" and/or by post rather than in person at physical branches.
How would the proposed ID card make this more secure?
Would we all have to spend "3000 to 4000 pounds" each on an approved tamperproof personal biometric card reader?
Would these "major transactions" be recorded in our bulging files on the Government database?
