Telesales and Fax marketing is easy to stop. Just register with the TPS and FPS services. Most people don't seem to know about these free blocking services.

I have to agree with Mr Green that for SOHO and home users there is a total lack of understanding when it comes to configuring a PC against attacks.

I have spent too many hours sorting out PCs for peolple which have been virus ridden. The answer is always the same from the owners; they have antivirus and a firewall but don't know how to configure and usually aren't aware that they have to download updates!

I tend to spend at least half an hour explaing everything so the pcs don't come back to me at a later date!

Maybe the high street retailers should spend a bit of time explaining about firewalls and av instead of just grabbing the money!

It is worth remebering that most home users just want to surf the net and do whatever with their pcs and are not really interested in how a pc works.
