This is being discussed elsewhere on the web, how can he be illegally using someone's wifi? He asked permission and it was granted, how, because the system gave him access because it was almost certainly an _open_ system. He did not do anything to break in, if he did the reports should had made this this clear.

Any one can use my connection as I have a part of it open for the use of people using our gîtes. But that would not stop anyone who could get close enough to also connect.

Orange in France promote the Livebox Pro wich gives open wifi access, what about the likes of the Fon and other communities?

Sorry I forgot it's August the silly season for reporters.
