Xansa has signed an extension worth £38m to a contract with the UK government's Learning and Skills Council (LSC).
The revised contract, which was initially signed in 2001 as a two-year £20m deal, will see Xansa provide the LSC with IT systems development and support for the next three years.
Much of the work will focus on the LSC putting its services on the internet and enabling the electronic exchange of information with learning providers, in line with the government's target for all departments to put their services online by 2005. Xansa will receive £12m during the first year of the revised deal.
Paul Frost, Assistant Director LSC Information Systems, said in a statement that the contract will support the modernisation of the organisation at both a local and national level.
"The continuity of resources to us is important, as Xansa understands how our business is developing and I am pleased that we have strengthened our relationship as this new contract shows," he said.
