CSC has won a $17m five-year contract with Barclaycard to install a new payment processing platform.
As part of the agreement CSC will roll out its CAMS II merchant acquiring and card issuing platform for Barclaycard’s merchant services division.
Barclaycard said the deal will reduce costs and give the company more flexibility in order to gain competitive advantage.
Steve Adams, international IT and operations director at Barclaycard, said in a statement: “We are confident that the dynamic and modular nature of CSC's CAMS II platform will enable our processing systems to truly align with and support our future business strategy."
The CAMS II platform will support debit cards, credit cards, smart cards and consumer loans products.
Steve Mitchener, president of CSC's financial services operations in Europe, said in a statement: "We expect that this project will create a number of processing benchmarks and firsts in the financial services sector both in the international and domestic US markets."
