BT and Nortel are setting up a converged IP communications system at the new City of Manchester stadium - home, as of next season, to Manchester City football club.
The Stadium - previously used as the main location for the 2002 Commonwealth Games - is to get a state-of-the-art press box, which will be tailored for journalist from all media and allow personalised billing.
The ticket office will use a unified messaging platform, the Nortel Networks CallPilot, and a separate call centre based on Nortel Symposium Express will use voice-over-IP.
BT's newly formed Convergent Solutions unit will offer business continuity protection at the facility.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
