Your publication's awards need YOU!

CNET Networks UK, the publisher of silicon.com, is kicking off its inaugural annual technology awards with a request - for input from readers.

We will be asking a panel of experts to consider 10 compelling categories, listed below, but four rely on readers of silicon.com and our UK sister site, ZDNet.co.uk.

So when we want to know about the best customer service and support out there, we ask you, likewise for 'most promising technology', 'ecommerce site of the year' and 'outstanding contribution to UK technology'.

Tom Bureau, CNET Networks UK MD, said: "Many products, technologies and companies have not only withstood the tests of the past two years but prospered. As the dust begins to settle, this is absolutely the right time to recognise and celebrate their successes in the most high-profile way possible."

Referring to the reach of CNET's UK publications, he added: "You can't get much more high-profile than sharing them with the over 1.4 million readers. The shortlisted companies will enjoy unprecedented publicity and our readers will gain an invaluable insight into who they should be doing business with over what will undoubtedly be another challenging year."

The awards ceremony will take place on 8 October in London and the categories are:

- Enterprise product of the year

- Customer service and support of the year (reader award)

- UK technology start-up of the year

- Technology advertising campaign of the year

- Technology PR campaign of the year

- Most promising technology of the year (reader award)

- Turnaround of the year

- Mobile technology product or initiative of the year

- Ecommerce site of the year (reader award)

- Outstanding contribution to UK technology (reader award)
