In brief: US sells Treasury bonds over the Net

The US government is to sell Treasury bonds over the Internet from next Monday. Investors will need to open an account with the Treasury department before making a purchase. Until now, the minimum order for government bonds has been $10,000; under the new system this will drop to $1,000.
