Barclays Bank has chosen Amdahl's EDM product for Novadigm to manage software applications on its 3,000-machine UK network.
The EDM software automates the distribution of applications and upgrades, and configures remote ATMs (automated teller machines).
According to the bank, the software management upgrade was driven by the changing role of the ATM in its marketing strategy. The ATM is now a core marketing and information tool for banks and it is essential that applications are managed efficiently without manual intervention.
Barclays Operations Director, David Curd said Amdahl was chosen because its software and skills fit that of the banks.
Barclays refused to disclose the exact value of the contract.
