The Corporation of the City of London has invested over £1m in a Trimetra system from ICL.

The server-based system will handle payroll, accounting and human resource functions which ensure the Corporation's 5,000 employees are paid on time each month.

Michael Snyder, chairman of the Corporation's finance committee, said the new server gives the same levels of performance as its predecessor, but is smaller, cheaper and more robust.

"It has freed up space and allows us to expand with Microsoft Windows NT applications," he said.
