Israeli company, Babylon, has announced the two millionth Internet download of its Single-Click Translator software, hailing the product as an industry standard.
According to its developer, Single-Click Translator converts text from one language to another 'with just one click of the mouse'.
But one analyst has advised caution before treating the software as a standard. Anne Lise Wang, director of European software research at IDC, said: "I don't believe this software is a standard - particularly if the vendor says so". She said becoming a standard depends on factors such as potential user base, which need to be measured by other organisations.
Single-Click Translator can be configured to start automatically as soon as the user starts the computer. It can then translate any word or phrase in any application whether it's over the Web, in email, word processing applications or within games.
