Financial services and ecommerce software vendor, Brokat Infosystems, has struck a two-part worldwide deal with Sun Microsystems.
Part of the agreement allows Brokat to use its Twister Web-based financial applications with Sun's Connect architecture, with Sun marketing the product to its customers as well.
The second part of the deal involves a joint marketing strategy to promote Brokat's products worldwide. The benefit of using Sun's Connect platform means financial institutions around the world would be able to use its products at any time on any channel, including the Internet and mobile phones.
US companies have only recently been permitted to export encrypted products, and Brokat's Twister has been making its name on the global market. Brokat was involved in negotiating this concession with the US government.
