Leading outsourcer, EDS, is to offer Internet service providers (ISP) a new breed of outsourcing.
EDS will provide ISPs with ecommerce software, which they can brand themselves and resell to clients. The software will cover popular services such as corporate email, payrolls, Web hosting and enterprise resource planning (ERP).
"We're talking with several phone companies in the US about offering this service in pilot form," EDS spokesman, Craig Dees, told Silicon.com.
Vendors such as SAP and Netscape are likely to resell their products in this way, but EDS is delaying the announcement of any channel partners until late next month. The service will go live at the end of the summer.
