A Logica-led consortium has won a £14m contract with the UK government to provide nationwide communications for its University for Industry (Ufi) initiative.

The three-year contract covers systems development, programme management as well as Web design and hosting.

Ufi has been set up by the government to provide lifelong learning for millions of people at home, work or in one of 1,000 learning centres. The consortium, which includes Cable & Wireless, will link together those learning centres with four regional call centres.
