The Carphone Warehouse has announced a deal with French retailer FNAC to take over 46 of its telephone stores and become the largest phone retailer in France.
Branding the stores as 'The Phone House' in line with its other European outlets, The Carphone Warehouse will take ownership of 105 French stores.
The company currently runs 650 shops throughout the continent, and plans to become the largest communications retailer in Europe by 2001. The company refused to comment on the size of the French deal, but recent reports put it in excess of £10m.
