Dragon Systems has won a contract to supply defence and aerospace giant, BAE Systems, with an enterprise version of its NaturallySpeaking voice recognition software.
The technology will be supplied via CSC, BAE's main IT and outsourcing partner, which carried out pre-contract trials.
Dragon NaturallySpeaking Enterprise will be used by support staff and senior executives, including John Weston, CEO of BAE, who called for a rethink of the way the company does business. BAE emerged last year from the marriage of British Aerospace and Marconi Electronics Systems.
Tom Ruiter, Dragon Systems UK regional director, said because the Enterprise edition puts the technology on the network, end-users can access speech files which recognise their voices from any desktop or notebook PC connected to it, allowing hot-desking.
Dragon said remote install is also an option for administrators.
