Linux vendor Red Hat has opened an online marketplace to provide users with information and up-to-date versions of the free operating system.
The e-marketplace, called Redhat.com, specialises in offering purchasing options for Linux-based Internet infrastructure products. Users are also able to access product reviews and download free demo versions of Web software.
Matthew Szulik, CEO of Red Hat, said the launch of the site highlighted the growing importance of Linux to the corporate world.
Meanwhile, PeopleSoft has released e-Procurement - its own Internet procurement product for companies looking to open an online marketplace.
The product offers workflow, multicurrency and multilanguage facilities as well as supply chain management and consulting services.
