Europe's two largest stock exchanges are expected to announce a merger tomorrow.

The new stock market will be twice the size of EuroNext, the recently formed alliance between the Belgian, Dutch and French bourses.

Tomorrow's announcement is also expected to include a plan for the new stock exchange and the US Nasdaq stock market to take a ten per cent stake in each other.
