Over 700 users in 12 countries will be trained to use the Nato Automated Financial System, (NAFS) to speed up the current paper-based process of budgeting and administration.

NAFS will provide the public organisation with an integrated procurement and finance package enabling staff to monitor budgetary requirements on a global scale.

David Oakley, Nato programme director, said the goal was a modern system that would ultimately enable Nato personnel to make their own requisitions and travel requests.

Oracle won the Nato contract to provide financial software two years ago.
