A number of the UK's leading high-tech businesses have failed to meet the requirements of the FTSE's business ethics test for the second time around.

The latest FTSE4Good Index Series revealed Psion, Autonomy, Guardian IT, Atlantic Telecom Group, Cadcentre Group, nCipher, Knowledge Support Systems Group, Redstone Telecom, Redbus Interhouse, SurfControl and Telewest Communications (to name but a few) failed to show they have the appropriate employment policies in place.

Companies must have a code of business ethics, an equal opportunities policy, health and safety policies, flexible working policies, and comprehensive employee training schemes to meet the FTSE's criteria.

However, the companies named above have yet again failed to put into action the basic codes of practice and policies companies must follow.
