With only two days to the launch of Windows XP, Microsoft has started announcing a raft of add-ons to beef up the multimedia performance of its latest offering.
First out is Cyberlink and InterVideo's MP3 Creation pack. This enables users to record CDs in MP3 format using XP's Windows Media Player at speeds of up to 320Kbps.
The second add-on is the DVD Decoder Pack, which allows users without a DVD decoder to play back DVDs.
Cyberlink and InterVideo are among a growing wave of third party developers offering support for Windows Media Player.
