European IT services firm Anite Group has released strong quarterly figures with revenues rising rapidly despite the downturn.
The firm posted a profit before tax of £2m for the six months to the end of October 2001, with revenues up 11 per cent on the equivalent period last year to £95.2m.
The improvement is even better when one realises this growth has been achieved despite the sale of large parts of the business that had contributed over £20m of revenue to the previous year's total.
Comparing like with like, Anite's turnover grew 41 per cent on 2000.
Anite has benefited from booming government business, as local governments in particular struggle to get their services automated and online.
The company also announced today it had purchased travel reservation software company FSS for £10m.
