IT is further blurring the line between work and home life according to the latest research.
The findings are just part of the latest quarterly survey into the UK's technology habits by online bank Egg.
Eighty four per cent of survey respondents say increasing technology will mean they have to work from home more often in the future.
In addition a third of working Britons say they already work from home - around eight million people across the country.
The survey is just the latest of Egg's quarterly snapshots of the UK public's high-tech behaviour. It also finds an ever-growing internet population of 22.5 million adults.
Britons are also banking online in greater and greater numbers. 6.6 million people, a third of all web users, said they had used a financial services product online.
