silicon.com's latest Big Question video (http://www.silicon.com/a52539 ) features some of our best-known guests telling us how they became involved in computing, whether it was at work, at school or at home.

We'll also be giving our readers the chance to tell their stories, so if you want to share a memory or two, email editorial@silicon.com .

Here are some tasters from the Big Question:

"I remember it was a valve machine, in 1956..."
Geoff Petherick, chair, Eurim working group on software licences

"It was a Super Brain, huge and with virtually no memory."
David Taylor, president, Certus and writer of The Director's Cut

"I was programming adventure games in 4K on a Commodore PET at school."
Jonathan Steel, CEO, coolcrypt

"It was in the Yale department of computing [though the word processing was ultimately transferred] to an old-fashioned typewriter."
Richard Sykes, chairman, Morgan Chambers

"[I used] my brother's TRS80... which included an early text-to-speech program."
Pat Moorhead, VP, AMD

"I'm not sure I should admit to this really..."
Martin Brampton, director, Black Sheep Research and writer of Devil's Advocate. The imp.
