BAA has signed a £50m deal with BT for voice, data and paging services.

The five-year deal will see the consulting arm of BT's business telecoms unit, BT Ignite Solutions, building communications services for Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airports as well as BAA's corporate headquarters, covering 8,000 employees.

BT will also develop and market communications and e-business services for BAA business partners in the airports.

The deal will cheer BT Ignite, which is the least successful member of the BT family. It cut 2,000 jobs earlier this month.
