The industry body for public sector IT managers, Socitm, has appointed its first CEO.
Kate Mountain, former head of IT at Liverpool City Council, will take up the post this autumn after seven years in the public sector.
Mountain served as president at Socitm (the Society of IT Managers) between 1990 and 1992 and is a director at SSL, Socitm's commercial arm. She was also responsible for developing the Socitm website.
The organisation said it has created the position of chief executive following rapid membership growth.
